The book was published in January 2001 by the American Public Affairs Press. The Truth about June Fourth in China is the Chinese version of The Tiananmen Papers , published on April 15, 2001 by Der Spiegel Publishing House. The Chinese version retains the deleted contents of the English version and is three times as long as the English version.
